Tanja Råman is originally from Finland and trained at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. Since her graduation in 2000, she has worked as a freelance dancer with various choreographers / directors and dance groups performing contemporary dance, dance theatre and contemporary Butoh nationally and internationally. She studied MSc Dance Science at Laban in 2003 and has published two articles in relation to the dancers’ psychological health in Dance Health Finland . Tanja’s choreographic work includes Kaiku (2006), Kaihokaksi (2006), Kuuluako (2005/6), Umbilica (2005), Kaiho (2004/6), Expeditio (2003), Cocoon (2002), Lotus (2000) and several educational productions over the years. Kaiku, Kaihikaksi and Kuuluako were presented alongside a short film: nocturn as a full evening, called RESONANCE, in Cardiff during May 2007. Tanja has taught classes and workshops in various dance styles and dance related subjects from professional dancers to beginners. She currently lectures at the University of Wales Institute Cardiff . |
